The eye initially reflects our earthly organic nature, our raw physical elemental make up of Fire, Water, Air, Earth and Spirit.

The iris and the pupil are also symbolic of the tube: torus, a very significant shape. It is the shape all natural life forms experience as a prerequisite to birth, going inwards in order to expand outwards. The iris part of the eye is symbolic of matter (Fire, Water, Air, Earth) This can lead us away or towards the centre (pupil/spirit): in truth both ways will lead you back to the centre (tube/torus).

The centre pupil is like a black hole. Black holes were once thought to be the monsters of the universe, devouring everything around them in a frenzied cosmic feast. Now astronomers think that rather than being a space menace, black holes may be fundamental to the creation of galaxies. The space within a black hole functions very differently from our classical physics model; time and space do not exist as we know it.

Naturally we tend to travel back through matter to the centre from whence it came. Sometimes when we look into the eyes of another it may feel uncomfortable, so we think it is awful or incorrect: we feel we might be consumed by the other person or perhaps they will really see us and judge us accordingly. But again when our hearts and minds are in balance, we lovingly go through the matter of our lives back to our source. It becomes a journey of release back into the space of who we really are. In truth we are Soulmirrors for one another.

The image of the iris and pupil also functions as a mandala aiding.....
Focus and relaxation.
